About Medical Spanish Club

In Fall 2019, two medical students teamed up with the goal of creating an extracurricular Medical Spanish program. In Spring 2020, the Medical Spanish Club was founded and brought together bilingual students with students who wanted to learn.

With the support of USF Health, Medical Spanish Club was able to offer Canopy, an online medical Spanish platform, to interested medical students. In order to supplement the online modules, the club has weekly meetings so that students could practice pronunciation and fluency.

In addition, to weekly meetings, Medical Spanish Club hosts special events to supplement vocabulary not covered in Canopy modules. We also connect students with Spanish-speaking physicians to learn how Spanish is used in practice and foster proactive networking.
