  • Our Purpose

    The purpose and goals of this organization are to support the academic, emotional, social, and political well-being of students of the Black diaspora at USF.

    The Black Student Union hopes to foster Black excellence and/or allyship at the University of South Florida, incite political awareness and activism to support the liberation of the African diaspora, increase cultural awareness and community building, promote positive social interaction based on respect and celebration of diversity for all students at the University of South Florida, and to provide a welcoming community for all students of the African Diaspora at the University of South Florida.

  • Membership Qualifications

    Only undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at the University of South Florida are eligible for membership. Associate members may be USF faculty, staff, or alumni and spouses and domestic partners of student members. No local dues, fees, assessments, donations, or other charges are levied for membership.

  • Meetings

    The Black Student Union hosts general business meetings and special events multiple times a semester.
