Mission
Over half of seniors living in residential care facilities rarely receive visits. We’re here to change that!

GlamourGals at the University of South Florida (USF) is a student-led organization dedicated to bridging the generational gap and bringing joy to seniors in our Tampa community. Our mission is to partner with local senior homes, assisted living facilities, and rehabilitation centers to provide companionship, meaningful conversations, and our signature GG Makeovers.

GG Makeovers is a heartwarming program that offers manicures and makeovers to senior women, creating a space for intergenerational connections. Through these simple yet impactful interactions, we aim to brighten their day and foster meaningful relationships between students and seniors.

In addition to our volunteer efforts, our club will host a variety of events on campus, including fundraising initiatives. These events will not only help cover the club's internal expenses but also directly support the senior homes we are honored to serve. Every fundraiser, event, and interaction will be driven by our commitment to make a positive, lasting impact in the lives of the elderly women we meet.

GlamourGals is a nonprofit organization founded in 2000 with the goal of alleviating the problem of loneliness among the elderly. The GlamourGals USF Chapter will partner with local senior homes to organize and participate in regular social events such as makeovers/manicures, note/card making, cookie decorating, flower distribution, carol singing/karaoke, and more. Our chapter will receive leadership training, disposable beauty supplies, club T-shirts, and other resources and guidance from the GlamourGals Foundation on working with seniors.

The impact of this program is two-fold: elderly residents, who are often lonely and isolated, gain a renewed sense of community and self-worth through our volunteer visits, while members experience personal growth through meaningful service. Over half of seniors living in residential care are not visited—we have the power to change that!
