About Us
"Future Healthcare Professionals of Rural America" (FHPRA) aims to empower pre-health students at the University of South Florida to explore, understand, and and/or prepare for careers in rural communities across America. We strive to do this through an array of immersive experiences, professional development, and community engagement projects that allow FHPRA to bridge the gap between urban education and professional healthcare opportunities in the rural setting. Our organization is committed to fostering an appreciation for the challenges and rewards of working in rural areas while equipping students with the skills, resources, and insight necessary to make meaningful contributions to rural communities. By uniting students from the University of South Florida who share a passion for rural America and healthcare, FHPRA strives to cultivate a new generation of professionals that is dedicated to strengthening and sustaining rural communities.
