You have signed up to participate with Bay Chapel’s Food Pantry, a weekly pop-up food pantry based in New Tampa on Saturday, January 17th. For this event there are a few things to keep in mind. Please read ALL event details to ensure you are prepared for this event.
Location Details:
Address: 19911 Bruce B Downs Blvd, Tampa, FL 33647
Pre-Service details:
Please dress accordingly. This service event will be taking place outside, in the middle of January, for about 3 hours. Closed-toed shoes are required, but also consider:
Pants instead of shorts
Shorts of appropriate length if wearing shorts
Sunglasses
Hats
Sunscreen
A water bottle
Fanny Pack, Cross Body Bag, or Small Backpack to carry belongings.
If you require transportation, please meet in the Marshall Student Center Atrium (MSC) at 7:45am. Transportation to the service location will leave the MSC at 8:00am. There will only be one trip to and from the service location, so if you need transportation, make sure to be on time.
Service Event Details:
If you plan on driving yourself, please plan to arrive at or before 8:30am, to ensure a smooth check-in.
You will be provided a S.O.S. T-shirt before the service event. To help us best allocate our T-shirts, and to ensure you get the correct T-shirt size, please complete the T-Shirt Form, which can be found in a follow-up email you will receive prior to the service opportunity.
USF Students will be assisting in organizing, packing, and handing out food to locals in need of food assistance.
After volunteering, transportation will leave the service location at 11:30am and arrive back at the MSC at 12pm. Once back at the MSC, volunteers will have the option to stay and have lunch with other volunteers.
Volunteers who chose to drive themselves to the service site will also have the option to join the other volunteers for lunch back at the MSC after the service.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email, as it is a lot of information. Remember to fill out our T-Shirt Form. Your contribution to the Tampa Community is greatly appreciated by the CLCE, USF, and our community partners around Tampa Bay. Please feel free to email bryanstark@usf.edu with any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you on January 17th! Happy start to the Spring Semester, and as always, GO BULLS!
