Subject: NSBE Boeing Flight Competition - Potential Cash Prizes

NSBE Collegiate Students,

Boeing is hosting our annual Boeing Flight Competition at the National Society of Black Engineers 50th Annual Convention in Atlanta, GA on Friday March 23 and Saturday, March 24, 2024.

This is a chance for engineering undergraduate student teams from across the nation to showcase gliders that they built and  demonstrate its air worthiness in a series of flights. The teams who have the best presentations and 1gliders fly the farthest will win cash prizes! This is also a great opportunity for students to network with Boeing engineers, managers, and recruiters leading up to and during the event.

Students must work together in teams of 2-4 to design and build a glider from a designated list of materials prior to the conference. See attached for the flight guidelines and registration link.

Register online: https://www.boeing.com/careers/organizations/nsbe/ The deadline is Friday March 1, 2024. You must be registered by the deadline in order to compete.

Fun Fact: The longest distance on record, 189’10”, was achieved by team Firefly of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2008. Can you beat that record this year?

***Grad students please forward this to your undergraduate colleagues***

We hope to see you there!
