Build Your Cybersecurity Home Lab

Want to start building your cybersecurity skills outside the classroom? Join WiCyS at USF for a hands-on workshop on building your own cybersecurity home lab!

Led by Professor Kurt Friday, Assistant Professor of Instruction at the USF Bellini College of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Computing, this workshop will introduce you to the fundamentals of virtualization and guide you through setting up a home lab environment for hands-on cybersecurity practice.

You’ll learn how virtual machines work, how to create and configure your own virtual environment, and how a home lab can be used to safely practice cybersecurity concepts, experiment with tools, and build practical skills.

No prior home lab experience is required. Just bring your laptop and be ready to learn!
