USF Student Managed Investment Fund: Information & Recruiting Event

The Student Finance Association is hosting a recruiting session to introduce students to the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF): USF’s student-managed investment program managing ~$1.6 million AUM in a long-only public equities portfolio.

At this event, you’ll learn what SMIF analysts and portfolio managers actually do: idea generation, fundamental research, valuation, writing investment memos, and presenting recommendations. We’ll break down how recruiting works, what the program looks for, and the skills you can start building now to stand out (technical ability, market awareness, and professional communication).

You’ll also hear directly from current SMIF and SFA members and alumni, ask questions about the experience, and understand how SFA helps you prepare through workshops, mentorship, and hands-on training.

There will also be opening positions to be announced withing the Student Finance Association's executive board.
