Assistant Director for Training 

USF Counseling Center

Dr. Crystal McLeod is the Assistant Director of Training at the University of South Florida’s Counseling Center. In this role, she oversees clinical supervisors and provides administrative leadership to the Center’s interdisciplinary training programs. She also leads the Center’s APA-accredited professional development program, fostering growth for future mental health professionals. In addition, she operates and owns Crystal McLeod and Associates where she focuses on the mental health of women leaders.

Dr. McLeod’s leadership journey began with 14 years of distinguished service as an officer in the United States Air Force. Her commitment to service and excellence earned her several accolades, including the prestigious Social Worker of the Year Award during her tenure with the NASW-South Dakota, a feature in Forbes Women’s Magazine, nine individual Air Force awards for outstanding performance, and four annual team awards.

Dr. McLeod is renowned for her ability to develop high-performing, cohesive teams and for her expertise in implementing effective training programs. Her strong dedication to providing quality care and enhancing service capabilities has been a cornerstone of her career. She is highly respected for her contributions to the mental health field and for her leadership in training the next generation of mental health professionals.
