Stampede of Service: UACDC Community Trash Pick Up

University Area Community Development Corporation, Inc. (University Area CDC) is a 501(c) (3) public/private partnership whose mission is children and family development, crime prevention, and commerce growth. Its primary focus is the redevelopment and sustainability of the at-risk areas surrounding the Tampa campus of the University of South Florida.

‘UACDC Community Trash Pick Up’ – FRIDAY from 9 am - 11 am at the Harvest Hope Community Garden (13704 North 20th Street · Tampa, FL 33613)

Community trash pick-up efforts to keep the community clean and beautiful would exemplify the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

1. SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
- Promotes making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. Community trash pick-ups contribute to creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable living environments.

2. SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
- Encourages the responsible management of resources and reduction of waste. Trash pick-ups help manage waste and promote responsible behavior in the community.

3. SDG 14: Life Below Water
- Aims to conserve and sustainably use oceans, seas, and marine resources. By preventing trash from entering waterways, community clean-ups protect aquatic ecosystems.

4. SDG 15: Life on Land
- Focuses on protecting, restoring, and promoting the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems. Trash pick-ups help maintain clean and healthy environments for land-based ecosystems.

These goals align with the efforts to keep the community clean and beautiful through organized trash pick-up initiatives.
