Biomedical Anthropology Club Presents Our Next Guest Speaker: Forensic Anthropologist - Dr. Jonathan Bethard
Good evening, all! I'm here to tell you about our upcoming meeting this week!
Join Dr. Bethard, forensic anthropologist and USF associate professor, in a insightful lecture about the discipline of forensic anthropology. Bethard will discuss how anthropologists assist in criminal investigations and legal proceedings, in identifying the deceased, and in uncovering stories of life and death through bone evidence.

What is Forensic Anthropology? It refers to the systematic study of skeletal remains or fragments to create a biological profile for deceased individuals. This can include age at death, sex, ancestry, stature as well as trauma and pathological analysis. In some cases, individuals are victims of homicides or disasters, where the anthropologists provide information to law enforcement. They can also be involved with the recovery of bioarcheological remains.
Whether you're entertaining a career in the field of forensics, curious, or just bored -- all are welcome to attend!
