This presentation will discuss the GHG emissions inventory and projections for Florida. It will also present plans that lay the groundwork for a net-zero goal for the state. The GHG emissions inventory and projections consider both emissions and removals across IPCC categories. GHG emission estimations were conducted using the US EPA’s State Inventory Tool (SIT) and the State Projection Tool (SPT), supplemented by information and IPCC methodologies. Summaries of historical emissions (1990–2018) and projections for 2050 are presented. The net-zero plan identified multiple actions across GHG sectors and their potential emissions reductions to achieve clean electricity by 2035 and net-zero emissions by 2050.
