The Maternal and Child Health Student Organization at the University of South Florida proudly hosts the 17th Annual Spring Symposium, a two‑day event held on the USF Tampa campus. For 17 years, this symposium has brought together students, professionals, and community partners to learn, connect, and advance innovative, community‑driven approaches that strengthen systems of care and support the well‑being of women, children, and families.

Day Two examines the larger systems and policies that influence maternal and child health, including how conditions are created and how policy affects practice and community work. A keynote from a local elected official provides an inside look at policymaking and invites attendees to consider where they fit in, followed by a hands‑on activity that builds applied advocacy skills.
