Estimados LCPH Members,
I hope everyone is making it through the semester well!
I wanted to bring a few events to your attention.
First, the Latina/e/o/x Graduate Student Organization (LGSO) and the Institute for the Study of Latin America and the Caribbean (ISLAC) are co-sponsoring an excellent event. It is today, February 27th, from 4:30 to 6 pm. MSC Oak Room 3707. Dr Susan Greenbaum will expand on the contributions of Afro-Cubans in Tampa. See Flyer attached.
If you have ever been interested to submit an abstract to a conference but been too shy to learn how, then the next event is for you! The National Latino Caucus for Public Health is hosting a Abstract Writing Webinar on Friday March 1, at 11:45 am. The lead of the scientific committee for the causcus, who is responsible for evaluating and approving abstracts submitted to the American Public Health Association's Annual Conference, will give you tips on how to write a succeful abstract. You can register here: https://miami.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJEvf-usqT4vHtJztT0Svko3FVO4cM8kXlk1#/registration.
Next, we are co-sponsoring an event with Salud Latina and the LGSO. It is called "Let's Talk about Latino Health" and it will be an incredible panel with faculty and free food! You can register for the event here on Bullsconnect: https://cglink.me/2k5/r1954477 which will be held on March 28, from 5-7pm in COPH 1023A.
Last but not least, we will be holding our next Cafecito con LCPH on Wednesday March 6th. I want to make sure as many of you can attend and meet other LCPH members, so please complete the following Doodle poll so we can find a time that works best for everyone: https://doodle.com/meeting/participate/id/boAolGAe. Also complete this survey to let me know which topics you would like discussed during these events: https://forms.gle/ZZrsDWb3wvHRYkfp8.
