HOSA: Future Health Professionals at USF
Welcome Bulls, to HOSA: Future Health Professionals at USF! On behalf of the executive board, I wanted to express how excited we are to finally be transitioning back to a “normal” campus life. We have many things planned for this semester and hope that you share the same enthusiasm we have about getting involved! The contents of this email include an introduction to what HOSA is, the executive board for the 2021-2022 school year, and committee form applications.
Introduction to HOSA
HOSA: Future Health Professionals at USF is a pre-health professional organization with the purpose of creating an inclusive environment for all future health professionals while providing volunteering and professional opportunities for its members. Our organization holds everything from socials and picnics, to community volunteering and state competition events, with members also being able to obtain leadership and career development opportunities along the way. We will be sending out a monthly newsletter with updates on all things HOSA at USF related beginning the first week of September so stay tuned!

HOSA Committee Applications
Finally, and most importantly, HOSA’s committee applications for the 2021-2022 school year have opened. We have four amazing committees that individuals have a chance to get involved with: Volunteering, Competition, Career Development, and Public Relations.
Joining a committee is a great opportunity to step into a leadership role and learn what it takes to run an organization behind the scenes. It also offers a way to make connections and friends outside of class and within the health field! Please give a look through all the committee applications below so that you may choose one that is best fit for you. There are only three spots available for each committee, with the deadline being September 10th.
Volunteering Committee: https://forms.gle/QUXHLhogHtiP7ypT7
The Volunteering Committee is responsible for booking and attending volunteering dates throughout the semester. One of its most important jobs also involves running the HOSA table at Bull Market on Wednesdays from 9am-2pm.
Competition Committee: https://forms.gle/FKessea3SuYgTQtA8
The Competition Committee is responsible for organizing different fundraising events to raise money towards yearly competitions, so that the essential cost can be lowered. They will also be planning the SLC and ILC trips, including what we can do while we are there during our stay!
Career Development: https://forms.gle/9cqtKWgBTGTadC1x8
It is the Career Development Committee's goal to ensure that there are a diverse range of opportunities present for HOSA members. Such opportunities include reaching out to potential guest speakers for our socials and helping organize USF Health and USF HOSA's annual Healthcare Exposition!
Public Relations: https://forms.gle/mD686RpWWNZ1P2a96
The Public Relations committee is responsible for designing informative and aesthetically pleasing flyers for socials and other events. This committee offers a unique opportunity for individuals to explore their own creative capabilities while also getting involved in something that is bigger than themselves!
Please follow us on instagram @usfhosa to stay updated on everything HOSA wise, as it is the quickest and easiest way for us to communicate everything that we do. Our DMs are also open for any questions you may have for us!
We hope that as we go back to campus that everyone stays safe and masked up. We look forward to your committee applications and hope to see you at our first social coming soon!
