The Health Management Student Association professional series speaker event connects students with experienced healthcare management professionals. These experts share their insights, experiences, and career paths, giving students a real-world understanding of the industry. The event also provides networking opportunities for students to build connections and seek guidance for their future careers.

Jenny began her healthcare career at the University of South Florida’s Division of General Surgery, where she served as the Clinical Research and Practice Manager from 2004 to 2010. During this time, she directed clinical operations, research, community outreach, physician business development, and fellowship training within the Division. She then transitioned to Tampa General Hospital, leading the Office of Clinical Research as its Director from 2010 to 2012.  In 2012, Jenny joined AdventHealth Medical Group as the Director of Operations, developing specialty services, including Bariatric Surgery, Gastroenterology, GI Surgery, Urology, and Breast Surgery. During her time at AdventHealth, she helped develop and grow the Digestive Health Institute and Robotics Program and served as the Service Line Leader for DHI until December of 2020.  From 2021 to 2024, Jenny worked in the private sector, managing global operations across a variety of industries.

Breana began her career in 2014 as an Administrative Resident at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, a 350-bed safety-net hospital that serves the San Fernando Valley community of Los Angeles. She went on to join Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, a 915-bed nonprofit academic medical center, as the Project Manager for the Executive Clinical Operations team, working on initiatives across the clinical enterprise focused on improving patient experience, access, fiscal performance, and capacity planning. In 2019, she was selected as the administrator to lead the academic divisions of General Surgery and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, overseeing the clinical, administrative, fiscal, and strategic operations. As the Associate Director, she partnered with her Vice Chairs on business development and quality initiatives, introducing new subspecialties, advancing the clinical footprint to new service areas, and formalizing a health system collaborative focused on obesity therapies. In her current role as the Director of Service Line Strategy at Tampa General Hospital, Breana drives the development and implementation of quality, operational, financial, and strategic growth initiatives for the Digestive Diseases Institute, Urology Institute, and Robotics Center of Excellence.
