Join Us for our First Ever GBM Tomorrow!

  - Monday, April 3, 2023
 Events
Join us for our first General Body Meeting ever! Spring 2023 has been an eventful season for GenCLEO on the USF Tampa campus. With your help, we have collected hundreds of petition sigunatures, organized the largest youth movement to demonstrate at Florida's Capitol for climate action, and hosted weekly community outreach events.

The opportunities for involvement will continue until the end of the semester. If you are interested in being part of the change, we will see you tomorrow 6 pm - 7 pm at  MSC 3708!
RSVP Here!

The CLEO Institute

Founded in 2010, The CLEO Institute is the only women-led nonprofit, nonpartisan organization in Florida exclusively dedicated to climate education, advocacy, and engagement. The devastating hurricanes, the increased flooding, and rising temperatures we regularly witness in Florida underscore the importance of CLEO’s work.

Building community resilience and adaptive capacity require an informed, engaged, and prepared public. We work with government, business, academic, and community leaders to advocate for long-term equitable solutions.

The SGEF

The Student Green Energy Fund is used to finance student led, sustainability projects on campus. Each semester we pay a part of our tuition to the SGEF. Some of the projects funded by the SGEF are the solar charging stations, the electric bull runner, and the water bottle refill stations. GenCLEO is concerned about the lack of student involvement in allocation of funds in recent times. We aim to bring awareness about the importance of sound use of the SGEF and spearhead projects that will make our campus more sustainable!

Our Campaign

GenCLEO is pressuring USF to take the necessary climate action our community and planet need now! Our goal is to re-instate the Office of Sustainability, which has been closed since 2019. This office is resposible for over-seeing the use of the SGEF and holding USF accountable for their climate change mitigation strategies. Since the closeur of the office, there has been a lack of accontability regarding emissions, LEED Certifications, and the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS).
