About Us

Students are often at the forefront of movements to build a better future for our country. Whether or not those students make real progress depends on whether they are organized, have the skills to be effective and a strategic plan to get things done. Our chapters on over 150 campuses provide the training, professional support and resources students need to tackle climate change, protect public health, revitalize our democracy, feed the hungry, and more. For over 40 years we've helped students to get organized, mobilized and energized so they can continue to be on the cutting edge of positive change. Florida PIRG Students work to make a positive change on a variety of issues important to students from improving access to democracy to ending hunger and homelessness. This Spring, our campaigns are Affordable Textbooks, Break Free From Plastics, and the New Voters Project. Through these campaigns, we work to make college more affordable, reduce plastic use, and increase voter turnout on campus.
