The purpose of this club is to provide a safe space for film enthusiasts to discuss and critique all aspects of film. We strive to encourage a deeper understanding and appreciation of influential visual media, both past and present, through its viewing and discussion. Anyone with an interest for discussing films is welcome!
Meeting TIME & LOCATION
We try to meet every other Monday, on Campus, to discuss a film. On the Mondays in between meetings, we usually meet at a nearby movie theatre to watch a film.
TIME: 7:00 PM - 8:45 PM
LOCATION: MSC 2707
Meeting STRUCTURE
We usually start the meetings by eating some snacks and catching up with eachother.
Then we dive into the discussion of the chosen movie.
At the end of the discussion, we vote on the movie for the following campus meeting.

We will try to regularly post about Club meetings on BullsConnect and alert people through emails.

How We Choose Movies
We have a list of themes for each meeting. You can view them in the EVENTS section of the website.
At the end of every discussion, we will recommend movies that fall into the category for the next meeting's theme.
Then we'll vote on a movie, and that movie will be the one discussed in the next meeting.
You do not talk about Film Club.
When discussing movies, different people will have different perspectives and interpretations. Feel free to challenge ideas and viewpoints, but do so respectfully.
While someone is talking, try not to interrupt them in the middle of their point(s). It's hard for some people to open up and share their views, and we encourage everyone to do so at their own pace.
Below is a list of our upcoming meetings. We typically do an alternating schedule, where we split the meetings between campus and theatre meet-ups, but there are some weeks where that's not the case!
The "DISCUSSING" section of Club Meeting events will be updated regularly with that week's movie (after voting takes place).
Before you come to a meeting, take note of the "THEME FOR NEXT MEET" sections of Club Meetings. You should come to the club with a movie recommendation that fits into that category. At the end of the movie discussion, members will propose their theme-related movies and we'll vote for a movie.
