About Us

The name "EdByMed" (short for Education by Medical Students) captures what our organization will stand for. We want to deliver health information in a language that is simple and free of jargon. The average national reading level is at the 7th to 8th-grade level. However, most credible health information online is published in a language that is at a much higher reading level. What is the consequence of this? Patients end up relying on websites or social media posts that are written simply but are riddled with misinformation. Our goal is to bridge this gap and fight misinformation by providing health information that is simply written (below the 8th-grade level) and yet evidence-based and accurate.
