Steve is passionate about every Project undertaken, focusing on unique opportunities to create environments that facilitate impacts upon people’s lives. He currently serves as the Director of Design and Construction for the University of South Florida. Licensed as an Architect (nationally certified & licensed in multiple states), Interior Designer, Project Management Professional, Accredited Professional for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEEDap bd+c) and holds an MBA. Steve has personally managed projects (many of them award-winning) ranging from $5,000 to well over $500 million in construction cost and spanning almost every type of Project delivery scenario. This experience has resulted in a broad business sense, an acute sensibility towards design and the ability to create a powerful synergy when working with a terrific team. His successes have been through a deep internal commitment to excellence, sensitivity to relationships, and a design philosophy that is centered on the users of the Project rather than the Project itself.
Daniel Gessman

Daniel Gessman, MA GISc is the GIS Analyst for the University of South Florida's Department of Emergency Management. He received his BS in Environmental Studies and Geography from Florida State University and his MA in Environmental Geography with a Graduate Certificate in GIS from the University of South Florida. Prior to working for USF, Daniel worked in Civil Engineering, modeling stormwater systems, and for the City of Bartow, developing a GIS organization for Public Works and Utilities.
Daniel has been at USF for over 3 years and has helped USF Facilities Management build their GIS Enterprise from the ground up. He works as the Enterprise Administrator, develops internal and public-facing GIS maps and applications, and provides GIS support to all of Facilities Management.
Richard Piccininni, PE

Richard Piccininni, P.E. is the University of South Florida (USF) Civil Engineer for planning and construction on all campuses. He received his BS in Civil Engineering from USF. After working 15 years in the private sector as a senior civil professional engineer, he joined the USF team in 2016. Over the course of the last 5 years, Richard has been responsible for overseeing all of the civil engineering design and construction improvements to the campuses including: Water, Stormwater, and Sanitary Sewer Systems, Campus and Roadway master planning, Traffic signal analysis, and coordination between the University and City, County and State municipalities.
Among his many tasks, he managed the design and construction of the USF Laurel Drive roadway extension which included stormwater drainage basin design and a new sanitary sewer lift station. Most recently, Richard was instrumental in the acquisition of campus utilities data to create a campus GIS system. Using the GIS system he managed the creation of a stormwater model to develop a pipe replacement and pond expansion plan.

Rob Baynard, RRO

With two decades of experience in roofing and building envelope diagnostics. Rob serves as the USF system expert in this field. He has owned a company which provided infrared imaging for building envelope and roof moisture surveys, quality assurance inspections during construction and roof condition assessments.
Most recently he worked for a commercial roof and waterproofing manufacturer as their senior technical services manager. Responsible for the southern half of the United States and the Caribbean. Providing contractor trainings, installation and forensic inspections and warranty claims management.
Prior to entering the construction industry, he served in the US Army as a paratrooper. Rob still enjoys jumping out of airplanes, serving the veteran community by volunteering with Phantom Airborne Brigade a 501(c)3 nonprofit company with a mission to get airborne qualified people back in the air and on the DZ with like-minded people.
He is the father of two girls and enjoys cooking and developing flavors, especially on the grill.
