1. C3 is a year-long conceptual design competition for work in orbit or on the lunar surface. It is run by COSMIC, the consortium NASA established in 2023 to grow in-space servicing, assembly and manufacturing (ISAM). Hardware is only required on the Lunar track.
2. Undergraduate teams design, build and test a tool that NASA engineers have identified as needed for exploration missions. Testing happens in the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory at Johnson Space Center in Houston, where students direct the divers from the Test Conductor Room.
