About Us

The Architectural Community for Civic Actions (ACCA) is an organization that arouses awareness about social issues that malign disenfranchised and marginalized communities, while also trying to find solutions that address these issues through architecture. This club not only connects with other clubs within SACD, but with organizations in different majors which provide a comprehensive approach to addressing social issues.

Restorative Justice Through Architecture

Join us for a conversation where we will investigate the ills of the American criminal justice system and investigate how architecture can provide remedies by practicing restorative justice. Our panelists include Tampa's State Attorney Andrew Warren, Criminologist Lyndsay Boggess, and former Black Panther Malik Rahim! The last 15-20 minutes will be dedicated for the audience to ask their own questions.

Member Benefits

ACCA facilitates the opportunity for members to speak freely about social issues that concern them or that may be overlooked. Through dynamic conversation, ACCA members learn about the nuances of social issues, and what it takes to address them in a comprehensive manner. Some social issues that ACCA engages with are immigration, affordable housing, and the criminal justice system/school to prison pipeline.
